OpenSchool.MY | Discover The Book In You

I believe that everyone has a story to tell. Whether it is a personal story for self-indulgence, fiction story for entertainment or business story for credibility – a story is a story and a story has to be told before it can become a story. So how does one tell his/her story successfully? How do one transforms a speck of idea into a full length manuscript ready for publication? What’s the journey one have to go through in writing a book? What does it take to be an author?

On 14th March, 2015, I was invited by OpenSchool.MY to give a talk to a group of aspiring writers addressing the above in book writing. The title of my talk was ‘Discover the Book in You’ and it was held at Zest Cafe, Bangsar South.

In this session, I shared about my journey as a writer – from before I was published to the interesting things that happened after I was published. The main highlight would be the process of conceptualizing a bestseller whether it is a fiction or non-fiction book. I shared my working process, step-by-step, and guide them through with their very own book project. There was also a practical session where participants were given time to come out with bestselling ideas for books that they think they would like to write.
